Light, Shadow, and Reflections

Hari Roser
Philippe Sainte-Laudy
Nigel Byde
Rob Overcash

Lisa Holloway
I think the photographer, Holloway took the her meter reading for this photograph on the boy because he is at the right exposure, making him stand out against the golden glow of the back light. if the light was metered on the background, the photo would look very different. The boy would become a silhouette against the sun in the back.

Motion

Fog

Imperial Flow by Nick Steinberg
Misty Morning Light by Finn Hopson
These are both beautiful photographs, but I think Steinberg's showing motion is more expressive than Hopson's freeze action photo. while the freeze action captures a second, the motion one captures hours of time, and I think that's really cool. The shapes and figures the fog make on a slow shutter speed are very calming and beautiful. This is why I feel the motion photo, in this case, is more meaningful.

Triptych

A triptych is three images that all connect in some way, and complement each other to create a stronger effect than a single image.
